Thoughts on Flash Fiction

When I set out to write one short story per month, I was thinking one short story (between 1K and 5K words), but this idea of Flash Fiction popped in my head and I just couldn’t get rid of it.

Maximilian remembered how his life had been all those years ago. It wasn’t a perfect life by any means, but it was good. He had a loving wife, a fulfilling job, and two wonderful – if sometimes a bit energetic – kids. He even had a small house surrounded by a white picket fence. It would be the closest he would ever get to the American Dream.

Trapped

Bart has one task for today: to get out of the house and take a walk. There’s only one problem – his mind is holding him back. Every second spent sitting on his couch is a second of failure. Bart needs to confront his demons, or risk becoming a permanent prisoner in his own home.
