The idea of Flash Fiction has always been a bit intriguing to me. How does one convey a story in as few words as possible? It’s an interesting challenge, and I wanted to give it a shot.
Maximilian remembered how his life had been all those years ago. It wasn’t a perfect life by any means, but it was good. He had a loving wife, a fulfilling job, and two wonderful – if sometimes a bit energetic – kids. He even had a small house surrounded by a white picket fence. It would be the closest he would ever get to the American Dream.
Bart has one task for today: to get out of the house and take a walk. There’s only one problem – his mind is holding him back. Every second spent sitting on his couch is a second of failure. Bart needs to confront his demons, or risk becoming a permanent prisoner in his own home.
